About Us

Founded in memory of Paulette A. Steeves, we are a non-profit organization on a mission to improve women of color’s access, education, and community support as they navigate disparities in cancer care.

"I founded the Chemo Divas Foundation after witnessing firsthand how healthcare disparities affected my mother’s cancer care. During her battle with HTLV-1 associated ATLL (Adult T-cell Lymphoma), she faced unexpected job loss, unreasonably high insurance premiums, significant delays in treatment and more.

Our story is, unfortunately, all too common. Women of color are disproportionately impacted by financial barriers limiting our access to adequate healthcare. That’s why we’re committed to improving access to the information, lived experiences, and vital resources needed to advocate for equitable cancer care in our community."
